Just curious, in the last 7yrs, I gained a total of 45 pounds and 25 of which I gained on the depot shot, however, three years later after not using the depot, I still have that weight plus 20 totaling 45 pounds in 7 years. Lately, I've noticed that in the last two years I've gained about 7 pounds each year. The major difference is that I stopped being so active and was wondering if that is normal for someone to gain that much if you aren't as active and my if diet is better than before?

Metabolism slows down as you age. I am a nazi with my diet, eating only about 1800 calories a day MAX, but unless I exercise at least an hour a day including cardio, the weight starts to creep back on. I've had my thyroid tested 3 times, and have been tested for everything else under the sun. Dr. tells me that it's normal for someone "my age" which is 31. He also tells me that it will get worse as I get older, so keep at it. Get back to the exercise and it will start to come off. Much slower than you are probably used to, but it will. Good luck.

No problem. It was quite a slap in the face when the Dr. says that "this is normal for someone YOUR AGE". I'm thinking, WHAT AGE? I'm only 31? Just 10 years ago I was 21, and just 14 years ago I was in highschool! I'm really really young! ha ha. Although, I have noticed that for about 5 or 6 years, I have not been asked for ID when I buy alcohol. Bummer. ha ha.
This must be what men feel like when they turn 40 and go out and buy sports cars and young women. ha ha. Hang in there, we'll get through this together mishu. ha ha. :)
