Well it's been a little under 3 weeks since I joined ft.com and started working out/eating healthy. I went complete cold turkey and ate nothing but healthy foods and worked out atleast 5 days a week-- right away.

I'm at the point where I'll feel bad if I touch junk food. I haven't eaten any at all. I think that's the biggeset part of it for me, being obese. I used to love food so I ate it all the time. Watching tv, just plain bored, whenever. Now I only eat for fuel, my mind set has changed and hopefully will stay that way.

I'm not going to weigh myself until it's been about a month, because I know scales can throw people off sometimes. I feel a lot better about myself and already see changes though.

I just hope that I don't fall off the wagon after a month or so. I went through a similar change this summer and after about a month some holiday came up and I started eating bad again and couldn't get back into it.

Anyone have any tips on how to stick to it?

The first weigh should be fun and exciting! please let us know how it goes!

Also keep working hard and keep expectations low. If they are too high you can get easy discouraged if they come in lower. If your expecting low and they come in high its all good :)

Congratulations on making great grogress!!! I would suggest that you measure yourself (hips, thighs, arms,....everywhere) with a tape measure, that will show you real results that the scale won't. The scale can be a real evil instrument in weightloss, especially if you're doing weight training. Talk to us if you're not happy with your results, there is great support on this site.

Hey everyone...

An update of my progress...

One year ago I was 295 pounds. I started taking blood pressure medicine and randomly went down to 275 or so.

For the past few months I really started working out and trying to eat healthier.

I'm down to 241 now! I can't remember the last time I was comfortable enough to go outside with a tank top on, but I finally am!

I'm still losing a lot pretty fast. I'm on a weight and cardio program with a sound diet.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! Today I was 235, hit 60 pounds!

I'm actually losing pretty steady.. anywhere from 2-5 pounds a week. I think I really sent my metabolism into overdrive. I'm eating great, exercising at the right time.. I really feel like a fat burning machine.

Well great news.. I went to the kidney doctor two days ago and my blood pressure was perfect! My weight was way down, he was very impressed. He said the majority of people just stay on the medication and don't change anything. He reduced my blood pressure medication in half and said if my blood pressure stays down, he'll take me off it completely.

On the weight loss note.. I'm still stuck at 60 pounds. I started taking creatine daily after weight lifting, so I'm thinking that I'm maintaining more muscle so my weight isn't going down like it was. I'm still working out the same and eating almost a perfect diet.

I am 26 years old/250 lbs/5'5. I am just starting FT and I have joined a wellness center which I am totally pumped about. I've never worked out at a place where they do all my baselines (weight/measurements/fitness) test etc. and then after awhile I can see my progress in areas where a scale doesn't. I also have starting eating healthy. WOW, evol, that is fabulous. What kind of workout regimen are you doing? Also, in terms of protein shakes....what is your recipe for smoothies and at what point in the day do you drink them?

my protein shakes usually contain a banana, ice, chocolate whey, oats, milk, and natural peanut butter.. i drink them after weight training

I keep falling off the wagon, but getting back on. i guess this is okay, because i'm losing weight at a steady pace. my doctor says this is good because i'll probably keep it off longer (hopefully for good). i've lost 60 in the past year.. next week i find out if i get to stay off the blood pressure medicine for good.
