i dont think it was the water, its the illegal substances. he was diqualified from the latest met-rx worlds strongest man, and lost his place on the podium for failing a drugs test.

Even though he is clearly on mass amounts of steroids, Im pretty sure his ban for a year was the result of recreational drugs. Kind of ironic.

Yeah I wasn't trying to take away from anyone's accomplishments, they're strong as hell. I was just stating what should be a pretty well known fact.

I have talked to people (actually, the only two in america) that have trained with him. Steriods are a part of the WSM contest. All the contestants use them to a degree. To think otherwise would be naive. He is what he is because he trains like a beast. Most people could not load and unload for him fast enough without needing a water break. You dont get there without a certain amount of hard work, steriods or not.

Yea MP is a beast. he's damn near ronnie coleman's size as a strongman pretty amazing....6'0 300lb with probably 6% bodyfat...ronnie is probably sub 5 when he's competing, wouldn't be surprised if he was like 3%....5'11 300lb

thanks mutt...that guy was irritating with his bs...:)

I'm not a lifter or anything, but I have been following WSM since 2003 when Mariusz first won. He definitely has one of the best physiques ever, and he is a great all-around athlete as he demonstrated again this year in China (except that the morons at ESPN refuse to show all of the finals).
I have kind of an off-topic question, though- where was Savickas this year? And what happened to Virastyuk?

Don't know about Varastyuk, but I believe I heard Zydrunas was injured and was sitting out.
If I had to guess, I would say pulled bicep.

Id heard from one of my friends that a lot of the strong competitors like Savickas lift in a different contest due to the politics of the other one. Does anyone know anything about this?

Marunda was in it in 2004, but didn't fair to well as the competition went on.
As for Savicas, I could be wrong... Wouldn't be the first time.

First off, who compared their workouts to Mariusz?

Second, most professional strongmen are using. They'd still be stronger than you if they were natural. Get over it.

Third, stop being such a bitch and go lift something.
