I'm 15 and have been told I have an amazing butt. I used to get comments on it all the time. It was a bubble kind of butt and high up on my frame. I'm a healthy, active teen and just got a treadmill for christmas. I run about an hour/30 minutes at 4-6 miles an hour.Ever since I stared I've noticed my butt is sort of longating and not so "plump" anymore. Its starting to look like just more of my thigh and longer and flatter now.It was never fat to begin with and I didn't lose any weight, In fact I gained a few pounds over the week of christmas break,so where's my plump, high, bubble shape going and how can I get it back?

welcome to FT fitandflygirl! At 15, your body is still maturing and changing. I would suggest you try to add some squats and lunges to help build/maintain the muscle in your butt. I would guess that you're loosing some fat in your butt which is making it look less "plump". By building up muscle, you'll get your amazing butt back!

good luck!

Also you won't necessarily lose weight by working out- remember muscle gains more than fat so you can weigh about the same but be in better shape, look better, and be thinner. It all depends on what you are at when you start.

What do you mean "remember muscle gains more than fat"

Correction that was a typo- muscle weighs more than fat- I was talking to someone while I was typing :)

Thats what I thought you meant, BUT how does a pound of fat weigh any different than a pound of muscle?? A pound is a pound. The difference is the pound of muscle is smaller in size than a pound of fat. I think that is what you meant.

Muscle does not weigh more than fat, how can it a pound is a pound. Fat takes up more SPACE than muscle....so you lose the fat and build muscle.....you lose over all size but that same space is now got 2x the amount in muscle.
Thik of it like this fat=a 10lb bag of potatoes, Muscle= 10lbs of sugar...both weigh 10lbs right but the sugar takes less space then the spuds.

What I intended to mean was this- take a cubic foot of muscle. Then take a cubic foot of fat. Which will weigh more? The muscle will. So just because you lose some inches doesnt mean you will be lighter in weight necassarily. That is what I meant. That is why at the ending of my post I stated that you can be thinner, look better, yet still weigh the same or more.

No a cubic foot of each is still going to weight the same LOL a lb of lead is the same pound of weight in comparison to a lb of feathers

Law of Physics.....weight can not be changed.

So you are telling me that if you take 1 cubic foot of lead and place it on a scale it will weigh at the same amount as placing a cubic foot of feathers? That is incorrect.

And mutt I do agree about the law of physics stating that a lb is a lb that is correct :) I am more in sense talking about the laws of physics in regards to density. In example, you and I could be the exact same size, taking up the exact same space, yet you could be of a higher amount of density- therefore of higher weight :)

You're both right, but argueing different points...

Muscle is more dense, so a lb of muscle will take up less space then a lb of fat.

HOWEVER, a lb of fat weighs the same as a lb of muscle.
