I'm having troubles eating. The past 2 days, I haven't eaten breakfast or lunch. Just dinner when I get home. I know it's not good for me, and I know it's counterproductive, but I've been doing it anyway. Food is getting low at the house, so I'm not eating.

Today I'm going to go out and get something for lunch. I will. I promise. I just need some uptalking. Affirm the things I already know. Help me get over this hump. :(

The reason that you're not eating, is it medical or financial or...... ??? You are correct, it is NOT good for you, in fact it's really, really bad for you. Your metabolism will slow wayyyy down, and you know what that means.:surprised:

Not medical or financial....just funktasitcal. I guess I've just been stressed, and actually let it get to me that much. I did go get a grilled chicken sandwich yesterday, and today I brought some hamburger/broccoli concoction and a yogurt to work.

It's just difficult, because if I don't have someone to tell me "No, go get food now" when I get like this, it can last for weeks at a time, which is no good.

Good Girl:) Maybe you should try and post little notes in your house and at work to remind you how important it is to eat right. Or photos of what could happen if you don't. Keep your goal in mind all day long. YOU CAN DO IT!!!:)

Hey Cristal, we all fall into slumps. That's what everyone is here for. Pick yourself up, brush yourself off and get back to your quest for sveltness(is that even a word?)! Make sure you always have something easy on hand to eat-yogurt was a good choice!

Yup...found it at www.m-w.com and unbelievably Charlie used it right...except it has an "e" at the end.

Main Entry: svelte
Pronunciation: 'svelt, 'sfelt
Function: adjective
Etymology: French, from Italian svelto, from past participle of svellere to pluck out, modification of Latin evellere, from e- + vellere to pluck -- more at VULNERABLE
1 a : SLENDER, LITHE b : having clean lines : SLEEK
2 : URBANE, SUAVE
- svelte·ly adverb
- svelte·ness noun

Funny...originally I had the "e" in it, but thought with charlies age and wisdom, he'd have spelt it correctly, so went with his version...should have known .

That was the old English spelling. I'm gonna go google
"stump" or "stumpe" and see what I come up with.

I think the key here is to go out and buy some good healthy food for the house. I know when i get low on food i'm more likely to order out or eat out...or even skip here and there. Best thing is to have good healthy food around. Then the excuses go down.

Yes, that is something that deffinately effects my not eating. After almost 3 years of going without so my husband can eat(he works a very physically demanding job)we are now finally in a position where if things get low, I can go get more.

Sunday and Monday, things were low, so I went into "Don't Eat So There Is Food For OThers" mode. But, I went grocery shopping Tuesday, and yesterday and today have brought a nice lunch and snack to work.

Cristalbelle - you might try buying some pre-measured meal replacement shakes, like myoplex lite or prolab's lean matrix. Then all you have to do when making food seems like a huge effort is pour the podwer into a shaker and add water. I do this when I am feling overwhelmed by cooking another meal, or feeling like there is nothing in the house to eat. It is a good back-up plan.

Another thing would be to get some cereal bars that are low fat, less sugar and have those on hand for times like that.

Good luck!

Asimmer...you are so right.

This past month has been one of the most stressful of my life, but it's going to make way to so much less stress, and a better life all around.

One of the things I am going to do at the end of March is make a grocery trip for my office. I have a refridgerator, so I can buy foods to actually keep at work, which will basically elminate the problem of not eating at work.

I'm thinking of buying yogurts, some fruits, tortillas, cheese, and turkey to keep here at the very minimum. Should make it easier, and also if I find I am still hungry after I finish a snack(which I am sometimes)I can just get a piece of cheese or the like to munch on.

Yep. We aren't at Grandma's anymore(she went crazy and kicked us out lol)so the stress level is way less. We are living with my mom,so will still be saving money, and be able to buy groceries for work.

The past week, I have had a bowl of cereal at 8:30am,a yogurt and fruit at 11:30, a smaller bowl of cereal and a sugar free applesauce at 2:30. Then dinner when I get home.

I need to restock this week, and add in some protien and veggies through the day, but I think last week was a really good start.
