Heart rate monitors

I have heard that , a heart rate monitor is a useful tool in helping you stay in the fat burning zone could anyone shed some light on this for me .

Also could someone recommend a hrm that can be used in the gym (i think some hrms cross talk ) and for outdoors ,

Look at Polar, they make decent ones. I'm not sure about the Cross talk issue, but the F4 is a nice unit. Polar says the F6 is a better choice for Crosstalk, as the transmissions are encoded, to help prevent that.

Thanks a lot Speeder, I am leaning towards the Polar f6 ,as I spend a fair bit of time at the gym due to our long winters.. I take spinning classes as well as other cardio ..
