Can anyone suggest a good program that would help for a defensive back. Focusing primarily on speed and strength.
Thanks alot

I would suggest the 8 week mass & strength program here at ft.. then add cardiovascular fitness to it.. if you need help with that please ask.

Good Luck.

Also, try plyometric exercises for building explosiveness off the line.

I was a CB in high school also. Rob is right plyometric's is is very effictive in increasing speed, agility, and quickness. Also as you may know, technique is very important to on field performance. I wasn't the fastest corner on the team (I ran a 4.5), but I had the best skill set, which made me the best corner on the team. Good Luck!

Also try this drill if you play in the secondary, get two of your friends and have one be the QB and the other be the WR, have the WR run slants, posts, hooks, whatever and you pratice covering him, this will work out your skill and speed and foot-work. I do a similar drill for linebacker and it works great. Good luck
