I want to start running, but if I go more than 1/2 a mile I start to feel as though I am going to throw up :( ...any suggestions on how to calm my stomach and get over that feeling? Thanks!!

Gradually add distance or time. Do you have enough fuel in your system to support your running? Do you eat/drink too close to running?

If you are a beginner runner it may be useful to look up a walk-to-run beginners program and follow it. There are a lot of them online - put it into google and see what you find.
