Hello. I Just started counting my calories and working out so i'm kind of new at this whole losing weight thing.
My question is....i'm taking in about 1,000 calories a day and I was just wondering if I can eat anything I want as long as I stay in my calorie range and work out? Also, can I lose a significant amount of weight by only exercising on the treadmill? I want to lose about 40-50 pounds.
Thanks guys!

1000 calories is too low, you should be getting somewhere between 10-15 calories per body pound. If you don't get enough calories, then your body goes into survival mode and will start storing fat.

If you want to lose weight stay on the lower side of the 10-15 caloric intake per pound, but basing your diet off of calories alone will not work. You need to also incorporate healthy carbs and protein into your diet to make it more balanced along with implementing a good exercise program.

This is the most efficient way to get the results you want.

Good luck!:)

Working out on the treadmill is a great start, go for it!! You will want to juggle that with something else down the road for cardio to keep your body responding positively and adding weights is a benefit that will bring you great results! Good luck and eat right! :)
