Hey I’m a 19 year old male with quite a small build. My question isn’t so much about exercise or nutrition, but I thought some of you guys might be able to help me.
Basically, between the ages of 7 and 15 I was bullied quite badly and since then always lacked confidence within myself and as a result of the lack of confidence I always put my head down and rounded my shoulders up because I didn’t want people to see me. I guess I got into the habit of doing that and now I think my posture is bad, I have round shoulders, and my neck is more forward then most peoples is. Since I am 19 years old, do you think it’s too late to correct this problem? Or do you think I can be corrected with exercises and I could end up with a normal back like everyone else? or is it too late for me to do anything about this?
Any advice you could give me would be great, as I am quite depressed about this. I just want to look normal.

I think you need to start lifting, and that it shoudl help. Another thing is to go see a ortho specialist to see if it is a acutaly bone deformation.

I used to slouch alot cause i was overweight and shy and somtimes bullied. Deadlifts and squats helped with my posture.
Nothing like lifting a few 100 lbs or so to boost the self confidance.

first see a doc...it can become permanent...it can turn into scoliosis ....
Deadlifts, squats, and lifting in general will correct it....
I had a tendency to slouch when I was younger and since my dad has scoliosis(he was mostly a homebody when he was younger) my genetics/chances were higher for probs so I started lifting in part to improve my posture...and it's worked...I now look like a soldier with my shoulders back...almost too much now lol....

it might not be your thing but you can try pilates which is based on strengthening postural muscles or yoga which teaches strong posture but ofcourse ask a specilist or doctor first and see what they say
