Well, as some of you may know, I've been training for the past 7 weeks to compete in my first Spint Triathlon (750m swim, 20km run, 5km ride.. or for my neighbors....0.5mile swim, 12.4mile bike, 3.1 mile run)

I competed on Sunday and managed a 15th place finish for my age group....not bad for my first Tri! the weather was perfect, which certainly helps when your doing an open water swim, although the water was only 72 dgrees F. There was a total of 39 competitors in my age goup, 40-49 and I place 8th in the swim, 11th in the cycle and 15th in the run. I need to improve my tranistion times and my running time sucked( 29 min for 5km rrggg)....but overall I was very please with my results.

....now back it's to the gym to lift....Still have to accompish 1 full chinup before the end of the year, but at least I got the Tri off my "to do" list:)

Congrats FOTW!!! I got the chin-ups down...I'm up to 10 right now. I'd love to be able to complete a triathlon. I'll trade you my chin-ups for your endurance?

Thanks for the conversion I was trying to figure out how you ran 750 Miles. Just kidding I'm not really that dumb...zip it!

Thanks for pointing that out sstump...I screwed up the numbers...should have read 750m swim, 20km cycle, 5km run...which equals...0.5 mile swim, 12.4 mile cycle and 3.1 mile run. Sorry for the confusion...I'm still dilireous from the Tri:)

Congratulations on the finish. It's amazing what one can do when we put our minds and bodies in motion. keep up the desire!

Thanks everyone. Now my only problem is that I'm hooked on both weight training and Tri training....where the heck will I find the time to swim, run, cycle and wt train:) I wouldn't mind giving up on the running part, but unfortunately it is what I need to train on the most! If only I'd get paid to workout, then i could just quit my day job:big_smile:

Wow...that's really impressive! I was going to train for a 5k later this month but realized on the treadmill this morning that I can barely jog a mile. I can't even imagine imagining myself training for a tri! Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do. Thanks for the motivation.
