Hello! I am new, and am having troubles.. I started a month ago out at 200 pounds, and I have lost about 6 lbs, mostly in my limbs, face and chest, but not in the belly at all. It's mostly visceral fat, So I look about 4 months pregnant! People ask me when I'm due all the time!
I've upped my walking habits from 30 minutes a day to 45 which I know will help over the long run, but I have trouble doing crunches, my belly is really big and in the way. My question then is, What are other belly toning exercises I can do until my belly gets a litle more manageable? My goal is to whittle my waist from 43 inches to 35, no time limits, I just want to be healthy!

I suggest to do cardio(45-60min) before breakfast. Stop eating all white sugar, white flour and no carbs after 4pm. Belly fat is all about diet and cardio. Please just start with this basic format and the weight will melt off. Eat small abouts of foods(sweet pototoe or oatmeal or brown rice, lean protein and green veges)every three hours and before you know it say good-bye to the belly.

Really the only way is to loose body fat. Just watch your diet and keep doing cardio. Are you doing any weights too?

Belly fat is usually the last to go. I recommend increasing the intensity of your cardio. Intsead of walking, try jogging, doing the stairmaster, or an elliptical. You could also do HIIT 2-3 times per week to boost overall metabolism. add weight training to your workouts. Building muscle increases your metabolism. Diet is very important as well. You could exercise all you want but if you consume junk food, you will not see results.

Sivysivy, I don't have weights, but I do have those resistance bands, and soup cans.. I have very nice looking arms and my booty is shaping up nicely from that=o)

michelle9510, I could definitely try jogging mixed in with walking.. I'm also pretty much a stickler for my diet now because I definitely don't want to gain or maintain at this time.

Since crunches are REALLY uncomfortable to do at this time..I was looking specifically for other types of Ab Toning exercises, until I can lose enough belly fat to be able to lie down and crunch..

I say everything that begins with a "W" must go. Waistline begins with a "W" and so does everything that you must minimize or even eliminate from your eating. "W"hite bread, "W"hite sugar, "W"hite rice. Either eliminate those named, cut the intake of those in half or get rid of them in total, if not, your exercising will be "W"asted.

Try to keep building muscle through any excercises you are able to do, lean muscle mass is fueled by fat and will help you slim down more than just cardio and a good diet.

Hula there are "other" exercises you can do to trim down your belly instead of crunches. Try the leg raises or the seated twist. That at least is a start. They have the videos on here on how to do those exercises.

Also, push yourself HARD everyday in doing cardio. Cardio is the key to losing bodyfat. Do you have any exercise tapes? I am also losing body fat due to having a baby. I do taebo everyday for 60 minutes (talk about a workout!! WHEW) and I also go to the gym and lift weights and do as recommended here.

The weight is finally starting to come off.

Keep in mind the weight doesnt just fall off over night. It will take time. ALOT of time but it will come off and you will be happy you stuck to it!!!

I have been taking Relacore and doing 30 crunches in the morning and 30 at night. I have lost 10 pounds in the course of 2 weeks. I'm looking for more ideas to take off the belly fat,and tone my body really nicely.

HI everyone! it's hualbelly! I just wanted to share that I lost my belly!! It turned out I had a huge tumor attached to one of my ovaries, so I had surgery to remove the tumor and the ovary. I'm okay and healthy now. I actually had to gain 15 pounds because I was so underweight after surgery.

But thanks for your support!!!

I have tried almost every diet that there is out there and I cant find one that works. I just started to take the burn pills and I'm scared that once I get off of them I'll gain all the weight back I also started walking a mile every day but I'm still having trouble with the tire around my waist. What can I do to get rid of it?

Losing weight is all about diet first then exercise. Diet is really key. The fat wont stay gone if you dont watch what you take in. Pills are not really a long term answer a lifestyle change is. There really is no easy out. Did you try getting a fitness plan from here. Good luck and welcome to FT

What it comes down plain and simple is that you didn't create a calorie deficit on any of the other diets. The most common mistake I see people make is not taking into account what they drink. A few soft drinks, juice, wine or beer can easily add up to +400 extra calories. Another one is serving sizes. For example, one serving of pasta is not a full plate. I suggest you really sit down and evaluate your diet. You might be surprised how fast those ?oh it doesn?t count? things really add up.
