Fisrt off, I am 6'00" and 205lbs, my goal is to be around 180lbs (is that a realalistic goal?) (i started off around a year ago at 250)

Number 2...yesterday was my first 5k. I have been running now for a couple months doing a little more every soo often but never 5k. I run about 3 to 4 times a week for maybe 2 miles each run (a 5k is 3.2 miles)

Well back to yesterday!!! I ran the whole 5k in 32mins and 30 seconds!!!

If you want to loose the weight im serious about this running thing, it felt soo good yesterday to have people cheering you on as you ran down the home strecth and across the finishline!!!! such a confindence booster

anyway this run was for a good cause, it was a benefit run for the Childrens Hospitol of Philadelphia Cancer research, id recommend doing walks/runs for benefits causes not only does it help you get in shape it helps research some really bad diseases and conditions!!!

ONE OF THE BEST CONFIDENCE BOOSTERS EVER!!! TRY IT YOU'LL LOVE IT!!!

Funny, I ran my first 5k yesterday as well. Only I knew going in I wouldn't be able to run without stopping to walk here and there. But I went for it anyway since I'd signed up. I think my time was around 45 minutes! I made sure I crossed the finish line running (who would be the wiser)?

I hated it...it felt horrible and it left me coughing and hacking the rest of the day (been really bothered by allergies this season). But still, it was a challenge and I want to overcome my weaknesses so I'll probably keep running just so I can really do it next year.

Great job, and 32:30 is certainly a respectable time for your first 5km. Now you have a goal to beat for the next one:)

Even if you are on the right track, you will get run over if you just sit there.
