Well, I just finished week 6 of my first 12 weeks, and I'm down 8.5 pounds. I was hoping for more like 12 pounds (2 a week), but I'm happy with 8.5. This breaks down to 9.7 pounds of fat lost, and .9 pounds of lean mass gained. I don't really see a difference yet, but my husband tells me he sees a big difference in my shape. So, I have at least another 20 to go, but I'm getting there, and feeling better!

A new cool bit for the day. This lady at the gym came up to me and commented on my progress and told me she could really see a difference. It was really awesome. She's a lady that I consider a good role model, I guess, for lifting and fitness. She looks great and is definately not one of those "pink weight" girls. She bench presses with the best of them. So it was extra nice coming from someone who was knowledgeable, and not a wanna be :).

Okay, here's the final 12 weeks results:

*drum roll please!*
I started at 188 pounds (rounded) and approx. 38.6% Body fat (from Biofitness).
I now weigh 173 pounds, and am approx. 28.2% BF.

So, I have lost 15 scale pounds, 10.4% body fat, 23.7 pounds of fat, and gained 8.7 pounds of muscle. I have gone from a size 18 (tight 16) to a size 14 (tight 12).

Woohoo!
The results are as good as they could have been, but it was my fault, as I have missed workouts and allowed my free day to turn into a free weekend on several occasions. I feel I got good results based on that.

I'm starting my second 12 weeks today, and my goal this time is to get down to 20% body fat, at least. I learned a lot about how diet and cardio and weight training all fit together, and I have learned that I make choices about my life, and I am responsible for what happens to me. I may post pictures if I get brave enough :).

That's brilliant! You should be super proud of yourself ... and I think they're really stellar results.

You're through the toughest part of the learning curve ... the beginning!!! With everything you've learned, the next 12 weeks should be a breeze

Again, Congrats!!

Okay, so I've been awol for a while. Life happening and such. But I'm glad I checked back in and found this old post. Since then, I'm now down to 165 pounds, and a comfy size 12. On good days I do a size 10. I was feeling really down and out, and I've had no motivation since June, but coming back here and reading this, I realize how far I've come. I'll have to get my dh to take a new picture of me on my motorbike, so I can get a before and after look. (Yes, I got a motorbike just last week! Here I am almost 30 and I'm learning how to ride! Ha!)

Anywho, I started a new program, and my husband has been signed on to be my official a$$ ragger if I don't go to the gym, so we'll see what happens!
