Being overweight is a common trait these days and there is not enough help out there. Find out how you can shed those pounds and improve yourself from within.
Im 19 years old, 6'5 and roughly 350 lbs....so obviously I have alot of weight to lose =P
Im a week into going back to the gym and I have a question. Because I have a substantial amount of weight to lose, should I be doing alot of cardio with a little bit of strength training? An equal amount of both?
Just curious what my primary workout type should consist of.
Start with a total body workout that will build the foundation and ease you into exercise. you could do a circuit style workout where you do one set of each exercise , then repeat the whole circuit 1-2 times more. After your circuit you should do 20-30 minutes of cardio - low to moderate intensity to begin with. As you get fitter add time or intensity.
So a total body circuit routine might look like this:
Warm-up (treadmill or elliptical, 5-10 minutes)
push-ups or chest press 12-15 reps
Squats 12-15 reps
pull-downs or seated row 12-15 reps
Deadlifts or leg press 12-15 reps
shoulder press 12-15 reps
abdominal crunches 12-15 reps
low back extension on floor 12-15 reps
go once through, then repeat. You will hit every muscle in your body :)
