I have 10 pounds to lose, and was wondering why exactly are they so difficult to lose??? What can i do to speed up the weight loss. I'm eating low carb at the moment, in your experience is this a good method if you only have a few pounds to lose?

How much have you already lost? What did you start at and where are you now?

When you are in a constant state of a caloric deficit your metabolize will eventually start to slow down. You need give a kick start. Sometime just increasing your calories for a day or two every couple weeks is enough. This might sound counter intuitive, but if the body thinks that it is going to get more food then you metabolism will start to rise to take care of the extra food you are giving it. You can also do some metabolic training such as complexes or interval training. Do search for HIIT or complexes for more information.

thanks for the info.
I've just started the weight loss, so i haven't lost anything yet. I just want to lose the 10 pounds that have accumulated over the year
I started atkins, but on a low carb forum was told that high carb is best if you have only a few pounds to lose...i don't understand how this works? Is it true? would anyone care to elaborate?

Hormonal issues are a major player in long term dieting, thus one of the major difficulties in 'losing those last few pounds'.
