Squats looked pretty good. Based on what I saw, you have a weak upper back or you are just not keeping your chest up. Abs could probably uses some work.

On the dead. You hips look a little high, but some people just dead like that. If I had to guess, I would say that you didn't really suck a huge breath of air into your stomach.

You are absolutely correct about the deep breath thing. It is one of the things that I forget about.

I noticed on second look that I forgot to drive my back into the bar to start the lift. Another cue I need to remember. I

Can I comment on the guy doing quarter squats with 5lbs on each side on the smith machine on your 365 dead attempt?

Actually the guy had 10 lb plates on each side. His second set he got totally crazy and put 2 10 lb plates on each side. This is common in my gym. Quarter squats, benches, assisted pull-ups and curls(in the squat rack).

Finally got the videos for my squat and deadlift test.

Tried to take a bench video yesterday but the gym was packed. Afraid someone was going to knock my camera over.

I know you suggested doing the lifts on separate days Menace but I wanted to get them done. I felt good.

I was getting glare off the ceiling light on the deadlift video.

Please Evaluate and critique form.

My own evaluation:
275 and 315 squats were solid. Depth was a little shallow on the 365.

Not very good at critiquing (sp?) deadlift form. Could have probably got 285 but didn't want to push my luck.

I am probably going to pick up one of those Inzer belts like Menace suggested.

Thanks for watching.

You're facing the wrong way when you deadlift.

Nice. I'm no expert powerlifting coach, but that 365 squat looked pretty freakin easy, though a lil short on the depth, like you said.

Keep it up, and keep sharpening your form and strengthening your weaknesses. Not bad at all for 1 year of training.

And the dude doin the 20lb smith machine squats beside you...hilarious

Where have you been Aron? You haven't updated your log in the longest time. Thanks for the comments. I need to work on what Pemdas said. And I need to look more into what Andrew is saying. Form is getting progressively better.

It didn't look super hard, but it was enough to see his form breakdown slightly.

I'd prefer you didn't look at the mirror when pulling or squatting. Camera angle won't have much effect on your form though...

Seriously, deciding not to face a mirror when deadlifting and squatting is probable the best thing I ever did. Visual feedback will mess you up every time.

I still have been lifting, but have been lazy about my log. After talking to Steve one day, I decided to just do what I feel like in the gym, under certain guidelines of course. My upper body training has consisted mainly of rows, overhead pressing, and other externally rotated exercises. The only thing I do that isn't is pushups. For lower body, I have been doing Max Effort squats, speed deads, split squats, and hamstring curls. I have found that my left hammies/quads/upper leg in general is quite a bite weaker than my right.

Did you like my novel? Haha

I'll see if I can cover up the mirror with something when I squat. Dark Bed sheet folded over the corners and pinned together maybe? Or accidentally break it. The dumbbell rack is on the wall opposite the squat rack and the curl jockeys tend to use it to check their form. They get annoyed when I step into the rack to do squats and mess up their concentration.

Camera angle didn't help my form but it did provide side-show entertainment.

I got an email from You Tube.

Some guy subscribed to my videos. By the looks of the rest of his subscriptions I would say that he is raging gay. I mean super-mega gay! I guess I'm hotter than I thought. Maybe I'll do squats and deads in nothing but a speedo next time. My comment box would be full.
