I read the same article and thought of incorporating that into a ME day. I am going to give it a shot for both squat and bench over then next 8 weeks.

I really think this is going to help my bench. I was doing singles for a a while, but I think I need more reps at heavy weight. My chest muscles actually felt sore yesterday. I usually only feel it my tris and shoulders. I am feeling pretty good about this training methodology. We'll see how it goes over the next few weeks.

I might try it for my squat later on, but I am having pretty good progress doing singles right now.

Pemdas... which wave cycle listed are you going to try? i too feel my chest does not get enough emphasis with singles. i try to incorporate triples and doubles more, but this seems interesting. maybe provide an example after youve tried it...

Can this be done with bands as well?

When I first started using bands...before i really knew how lol..I would say do a set of 135 for 3 with bands....take them off and do 185...the weight would like fly off my chest...then i'd do a set with say 155w bands....then do a set of 225...weight would still shoot off my chest...

every tried anything like that?

I haven't ever used bands. I just tried them today for some speed squats. I think going like them.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with what you did. In fact, I think it is good that you are ok with experimenting. As to the effectiveness, I can't say.

Why not?

Shawn, there's a full set of bands in our locker if you didn't already know. I'm considering getting the BNS system for bench press (gliding bands: http://www.strengthcats.com/BNSsquatbenchpressbands.htm)
