who else hates them?

This summer has been terrible for me in terms of training. Torn hamstring, pulled erector, and a nasty bruise from passing out. That leaves one thing to do for leg strength: front squat.

The upright stance places less stress on the back, and put's the hamstring in a shorter position. Doesn't do much for that bruise on my arm, but...

I really hate them. I'd normally hate back squatting too, but now I'm stuck doing all front squats, all the time. So I'm going to remind everyone why they should be doing front squats and suffering, too.

They really help with flexibility.
They are almost impossible to do wrong.
My olympic shoes needed breaking in.
Great trunk work. No need for extra rectus work when doing front squats.
"I can feel my quad sweep getting bigger"
Vastus medialis development, which is often lagging in terms of the other quadriceps muscles.
The upright stance makes depth easier to hit.

And finally, when I finally get back to regular back squatting and strongman training, I'm gunna flip that tire with record time.

grr...I hate front squats. This is probably one of my least favorite exercise. I don't even really consider them a leg exercise because my abs hurt more than my legs after doing them. I hate them so much that I do them. I hope I can make myself like them so that I can stop.

Side note...Steve we have a safety squat bar now.

Actually like them better than back squats.

Wasn't sure if you were involved in that endeavor. I am pretty excited about it. Now if we just had a GHR...

Never done them...probably should try them, eh?

Hey wrestler how did you tear your hamstring?

I throw them as assistance to my PL squats and I hate them with a passion...turns me into a big pu$$y.....nothing like fighting 225 for just a few reps...obliterates my core....eh....dont know whether i hate front or zercher squats more....for a religious awakening give zercher deadlifts a try....

high rep sldl's. Got sloppy and started going ballistic with them, rather than staying controlled. Next day I could hardly walk and I had wicked bad bruising/bleeding...

Moral is don't be an idiot.

I found a way to hate them even more... olympic front squat NEGATIVES. Talk about a terrible way to start a day.

Afterwards I ate some pasta and chicken, and accomplished one of my life goals: I sneezed and threw up at the same time. I'd give myself an 8 for style and a 9.5 for velocity.
