I'm a 24 year old female looking to loose about 15-20 lbs by september. I'm a type 1 diabetic....how can i do this safely?

First check with your doctor about a healthy eating plan...then start walking and moving more daily.

Weight lifting will help your muscles deal with insulin better as well as help you lose weight- so get on a training plan.

You will need to monitor your blood sugar and consult with your doctor - exercise can sometimes effect your levels and cause a need to change your insulin dosage.

Dani, asimmer is right. Your Dr. can help guide you in the right direction. I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy. The Dr. referred to a nutritionist who put me on a very easy plan. It was a "points" type plan that helped me track my sugars, carbs, protien, etc. It was extremely easy to follow and really helped.
