Last night my husband and kids went to the store to get a treat...I can't have sweets in the house so my family has to head to the store when they want a treat....they asked if I wanted one...and me being so fit minded these days I said no...but thankyou...while they were gone I got a little bag of granola to snack on...when they got back I see them eating their treats and decide now I want one...so I get a granola bar AND a fat free yoplait yogurt...thinking...ah this is OK...it's healthy...but knowing underneath it all it was a bad move....so before going to bed I decide to check the labels......520 calories!!!!!And the carbs...through the roof!....I could have had 1/3 of my daughters king size snickers(why the king size I don't know)it only had 170 cal!!!Lesson learned...if you're craving sweets...sometimes you're better off just to eat the stupid candy bar!!!!

Granola bars and all of those type of snacks have are loaded with simple carbs, IE: corn syrup, fructose, etc.
Yep should have had the snickers, or a good quality protein bar (I did say "Good Quality")!

As much as I thought I've learned on this site...it still blows me away that I would be better off(weight loss wise)to eat a pay day than granola and yogurt.

The only thing I ever really crave is Chocolate...which is why I get the Chocolate protein shakes...one of those and my cravings will usually subside.

some of the time, granola bars are suppose to be meals.(u would no cuzz it would say it) just like weight loss meal shakes, there loaded with calories and different vitamins and stuff like that because there suppose to replace a meal and fill u up, so yeah, u should have eaten the snickers!!! but dont forget that it has lots of sugar and fat in it!!!

Conan - I have found that by stocking my 'beer' fridge in the basement with diet soda (all different flavors), sugar-free lemonade and sugar-free flavored waters and pretending they are beer I don't miss it that much. When I have the urge to crack open a cold one, i go down and pick a flavor, then proceed to enjoy it as if it were a beer.... best part is no hangover and no extra weight gain! And it turns out that it was mostly habit, not really the beer that I was missing, so just having a beverage to 'go through the motions' with put me in the same relaxed state as if I had had a beer.

I hope this makes sense?:)
