I usually get 7 hours of sleep a night during the week, and 9 or so on the weekends, so I don't think the problem lies there.

I turned to my diet, but I eat a fair amount of carbs, but not much sugar at all. Could this be the problem? I cut out soda/sweets and drink a lot of water.

I make it through the day, with the help of my friend cup 'o joe, but do not have the energy I desire as it feels as if I am dragging most of the day.

Any tips/help? Thanks.

How much water do you drink in a day? The first symptom of dehydration is fatigue....

On workout days I will usually drink .5 gallon of water during the day and then another .5-.75 during and after my workout.

Non-workout days I try to drink .75 during the day and then .25-.5 at home.

What is your daily calorie intake? Your energy expenditure? You say you weigh 157lbs.

I'm up to about 162 now. Usual daily meals:

6am - 2c skim milk (2 scoops protein powder on non-workout days)

9am - 1c or a little more oatmeal and a plum or apple

noonish - 3 oz turkey, 2 slices whole wheat bread and some veggies (brocolli, celery, bell pepper, cucumber)

230pm - a couple of handfulls of walnuts or peanuts and the rest of my veggies

5 - big bowl of cereal

7 - protein shake on workout days

730 - dinner (chicken, or beef based meals. I also eat a lot of venisson as it is free from hunting). For dinner I aim to eat 700 calories or so depending on the rest of the day.

I workout 4 days a week usually, sunday through thursday. Saturday I like to mountain bike for an hour to an hour and a half.

Other than that I sit in a desk all day on a computer and conference calls.

I try to eat fish at least once, at most twice a week.

So what you're saying is more protein? I get that and I know I need that for muscle growth. But does that affect my energy levels? I thought those were more affected by carbodydrate levels and hydration.

I take a multi every day, do I need more B vitamins still?

Your dietary inake on the low end of your stated caloric intake is only 12 cal. per lb. With the energy expenditure you have, and trying to build muscle, this will in no way do. 15 cal. per lb. is percieved maintenance for most active individuals. You are in a dietary mode.

Even on your "high" intake days, you are just over 14 cal. per. I would suggest if your protein is high enough to either add some fats or some good complex carbs.

Another thing, have you ever had your blood sugars checked?
