I am 16. Looking to gain weight.
I have a 5 day a week workout program, starting soon.
I play basketball, and I need to train for the upcoming season. Do I condition my self with running and sprinting, basically cardio?
Yes or No?
If yes, when do I do it, everyday? I have read other topics but my specific question is still unanswered.
Thank you

if you need to gain weight: no
If you already play basketball, i think it s better to "only" workout 3 to 4 times a week 45 min max

yes do sprints...try to do sets of 5-10 for 100-200 meters...rest 3-5 minutes...go at your best pace...as u progress either increase number of sets, sprint faster, or cut the time u rest between sets...3-4 days a week is plenty......

So should I run before or after my workout?
Also, should I stick to sprinting, or do some long distance running as well?

do this on separate day or after lifting weights....you can occassionally do long distance running to mix it up but mostly sprints....you can try running stairs or all out jump roping as well...

Also if you want to gain weight while increasing cardio exercise...then you must eat A LOT MORE total calories in a day....4000-6000 calories...depending in how much you currently weigh and other factors...
