It is totally just WRONG!!! I am a brunette and the other day my daughter was brushing my hair out, something we do with each other in the evening times, kind of a mom/daughter ritual and she said, "MOM!!! You have so many grey hairs!!!" Ofcourse this isn't anything any woman wants to hear, especially me.

What are men's take on women with greying hair, and women's takes on it as well.

I a debating on whether to cover it up or not, I haven't yet and didn't really notice them too much until the girls asked if they could pull them out for 25 cents each!!!

It sucks getting old! :(

You're about the same age I was when my son discovered and plucked my first grey hair. He was looking at the back of my head said "Hey lady, you have a gray hair." I was sure that he was mistaken, that it was just an extremely blonde hair. But I was wrong and the more I looked the more I found.

I am not one to get to a hairdresser more than once or twice a year, so the coloring option wasn't going to work. I did get a few weaves, which didn't cover but did camoflauge pretty well and weaves don't leave obvious roots if you don't keep them up. Now I use the occasional box f temporary color...the type that washes out in 24 washings. Again, so I don't have to deal with roots. I think when I ever become significantly gray I will have to have it professionally colored. I remember a woman in PTA who was totally gray in her 30's and it made her look so much older. It drove me crazy that she was content to look old and matronly when all she there was such a simple solution.

I'll never forget going to the salon to get my hair cut and seeing those grey hairs sparkeling in the lights on top of my head!!! I didn't know what they were at first(I was in denial),so I asked the hair dresser, she laughed and said they were grey hairs.I had my hair highlighted.I'm a brunette also so I lightened it some with the highlights and that hides them pretty well.At 34 I have yet to start with the wrinkles...when those come along I will consider letting my grey hair shine!!!Until then I don't mind getting carded for alcohol!

That's funny Tiger! He's doing well in the not "turning loose" department!Men are lucky though..grey hair tends to add to their appeal(IMO) it just makes women look old(again IMO)

Well, I have never seen a woman with grey hair that I thought about dating. :) I know it shouldn't be that way, but we do live in a very superficial world. :(

If I had any grey hair I'd have to shave it all off. :)

My Indian boss has been trying to talk me into giving my hair a henna treatment. Supposedly it will cover the gray. I'm going to try it tomorrow. It looks to be a long (5 hour), tedious process. We'll see how it goes. Anyone else done this using natural powdered henna leaf?

I have never heard of it, but let me know how it goes... what it does to the texture of your hair? If it really covers your gray, etc.

Really mystic? My hair is covered in the stuff as I write this. Everything I have read promotes henna as a conditioning treatment! I did read one website from a woman who said the first time she did it it made her hair feel dry, then she tried a few weeks later and her hair was as soft as silk and has been each subsequent time. Well...I guess I'll find out for myself.

I think it depends on your hair to begin with..I have fine hair and found that the henna thickened it,but also dried it out..I didnt try it more than once, guess I was turned off by the first time

Let us know how it looks

I am still undecided so i will leave it as it is for now, if it starts getting really noticeable, then I will have to do something. Too be honest, I love my hair color, was blessed with it and have always loved it, I don't want to change it! Not many are blessed with black/brown hair and green eyes. :) So the end result will probably be just a covering of the grey with my natural color.

I am/or was/ a natural light blonde with extremely straight hair. After about the age of 30, my hair darkened to more of a dirty almost mousy blonde...I wasn't impressed. So I began dying my hair to my original blonde colour. The added bonus was the body I gained in my hair. I now actually have wavy hair which is so much easier to style. I have it coloured professionally (about every 7 weeks) because when I was doing it myself it really dried out. I found someone private who does it much cheaper than a salon. I've been doing it so long now, I don't even know if I have gray hair! I will continue simply for the extra body it gives me!! I once decided to try my now natural darker blonde and everyone asked why I dyed my hair so dark--so back to light blonde I went....other than the blonde jokes, I love it:)

Well...the henna worked. It definitely covered the gray and I am now a redhead (auburn). It didn't dry my hair or anything. I left it on for five hours. On someone with very dark hair, the henna would only add red tones and from what I read hair with no pigment becomes popsicle orange so if one has a lot of gray hair it is probably not what you'd want. I'm getting lots of compliments (posted a picture in my profile), just getting used to me as a redhead. Well, it is a change anyway!

Now you just need to add the firery temper
I love being a red-head. I may have to try that to keep my hair red instead of grey(I really hate the ones I'm seeing)

I'm 32 years old and my head is half "silver" already. So I guess I can't say much. However my wife just noticed a few on her head, so that's been keeping me entertained lately. It pisses her off...but I'm just trying to help her get acclimated to the gray like she did me. :)

Good thing is both of my grandfathers had solid "silver" hair, but at least it was all there.

Like how I use silver rather then gray? Sounds more distinguishing.

Yeah, my boyfriend would gladly give up his balding head for a full head of gray hair!
