Well losing weight comes first with altering your diet. One pound= 3500 calories so you should try to lower your intake of calories by 500-1000 depending on your intake right now. The healthy way to lose weight is 2-3 lbs at a time but the 1st 10 or so will come quicker because it'll be water weight. Also try doing some cardio to burn off some calories :) Hope this helps

500-1000? A day? A week?

Try to create a deficit by reducing your daily calories by 200 and burning 300 calories a day through exercise.

You are probably seeing some weight gain because you have cut down your activity level, but not your calories.
Most college campuses have gyms - get in there and get some exercise!
