What has happend to weight training? I mean we have the best technology, the best information, the best of everything at our finger tips. Yet we still fall for those get fit quick schemes. Take a look at work during lunch. At least a few people are eating on one kind of fad diet or another. Still more are not eating, others just not caring eating too much. On tv we are blasted over and over with messages to buy this, use that and you will look liek this....all of it crap!
Look on this site, even after the more advanced members, some with degrees and jobs in this field, give out advice we still have people asking for that trick, fast way to loose weight etc. I just saw a post asking how to lose 1lb a day! Come on use your minds people..that 20lbs didnot take 20 days to get added on it WILL not take just 20 days to get rid of it.

Yep Muttersnapper I've slowed my posting here way down on account of these types of questions showing up over and over. The best way to get a grip on ones weight is proper diet, rest and exercise. There are NO quick fixes. The only sure fire method to be in good shape is to STICK TO IT. It's a lifestyle, not just a style.

Actually Mutt I was able to pack 17lbs of fat on in 13 days once.. and yes it stuck. Took me longer than 10 days to get rid of it. Then there was the last cruse.. 10+lbs in 7 days .. then there was..
They key is exactly what Charlie and you guys have mentioned before, its a lifestyle change. I never believed in magic pills or diets, I simply just cut my calories down to 600 or so a day which got me nothing but a free trip to Yoyo Weight City. You MUST change to healthy habits and lifestyle, otherwise you will always be on some miracle diet and your results will never be permanent.

Most of that 17lbs would have been in glycogen expansion, from the gorging of food. However, you will not lose 17 lbs of fat in 17 days. You will lose 4lbs of fat, 5lbs of water, and 8 lbs of muscle.
The best point on this thread was made by big-e with only one word.
LIFESTYLE.
It is not a new years resolution, or a once a month thing. It is a way of life. And I happen to love this lifestyle.
