Now everybody knows this and everybody does it once in a while (the quantity of food just changes).
What do you all think while doing it?
Is it that we feel soooo much selfpity that we think that nothing more matters, and then we just continue to eat?
Or do we feel so angry and sad that we don't even realize what we're doing?
What's your experiece?

I think its boredom with me. I eat a SERIOUS amount of food as it is, but sometimes I'm so bored that I eat for fun. I like to cook, and I like to eat what I cook. :)

I think that I over fixate (sp?) on my routine, so, when I do take a jump off the wagon I tend to feel like I have ruined it altogether. Therefore, it is hard to muster back up my self control and I continue to spiral downward. It is a mindset that I have been working really hard on correcting these past few months. I am sure that there is a psychological component to it. But, then again, I could just be hoping that is true so I don't feel like a weak person...heehee:(

I'm a psych major, so I'm going to step in here and offer what I've learned about binging. Everyone binges from time to time. The regime that high fitness levels require takes a tremendous amount of control. When people binge, generally, it is because they feel out of control due to stress from whatever. Occaisional binging, without purging, is generally just a comfort measure and should be regarded as such. Acknowledge that you needed to let go of or assume the control and then get back on your regime. I'm an anorexic, not a binger, but if you think about it, there is usually a control issue at the heart of it. On the other hand, sometimes a piece of cake is just a piece of cake. I hope this helps brings some additional perspective.
