I'm back again to enlist help. My daughter is now fourteen and weights 300lbs. Yes, she eats bad food choices still. We tried weight watcher for four months she only lost 5lbs total. I do try to meal plan, and have healthy choices available for her. She will walk if I can go with her. Not for more than 30 mins she gets to tired. I have start to measure my food and let her see what a serving should be. My question is Do you think it would help to join a gym? I have even thought about hiring a personnel trainer for her, what do you think? I think that if she had a guideline to follow such as how much and what exercise she should be doing , food menu, how many calories etc would help any suggestions? She is 5"6 inch tall, bmi over 50. Please help me out here!

If she doesn't want to walk without you, she might not want to go to the gym unless you go as well. There are some gyms that have womens only room, you might look into that and ask her about it. Have you talked to her about why she picks the things she does to eat and tried to get her involved in picking out what the healthy choices are? Maybe there is something in the middle between what you pick and what she would normally pick?

I don't know you from previous post sorry, so just trying to give ideas. I was heavy(probably 20lbs overweight) as a child, and at 12 my mom started me on Jenny Craig. I can honestly tell you that I have resented being on a diet at that age my whole life, and I rebelled with food for the next 26 years as a result. I just now am making the right changes for myself.

Anywho, I hope you guys can come to a happy agreement that will benefit her health!

You may want to start cleaning out the cupboards of unhealthy foods and replacing with healthy choices as they diminish. #0 minutes is alot for a person who has never done any form of exercise try doing 15-20 where it will be enjoyable and build up slowly to 45.
Try buying a few lifestyle magazines like prevention and or womens health and cook a few of the recipes and she will probably get some motivation by reading them and also by helping you out int the kitchen.
The gym is totally up to her, she has to want to do it.

Good luck.
