I'm14 years old, i weigh in at 130 pounds and i'm 5'8or9. i want to lose the extra fat on my stomach so my abs are visible, but im confused with my diet. i'm italian so i eat pasta every night which is rich in carbs. i wont be able to change that so i'm wondering if it would help if i do about 40 minutes on a treadmill after dinner. also what is good and high in protein for breakfast/lunch. ( i dont wat to take any supplements but will accept suggestions abut them) thanks for your time everyone. (btw, if i drink 2 egg whites in the morning would that be atleast half of the appropriate protein intake for my day?)also if i do 40 minutes of cardio everyday (jogging/running) will i lose muscle?

you would need more protein than that
can you talk your mom into whole wheat pasta?? also a salad check the diet part of your program & it will tell you how much protein you need -------------- Reddy All people smile in the same language |

yup.. u surely are gonna need more protein then that.. try bb1fit's body builders grocery list in nutrition and supplements section.. select the foods which are rich in proteins from there.. and don't think about suppliments yet cuz u r very young and ur body is going to do everything for u at this age...
and yeah.. if u only do cardio everyday u r surely gonna lose muscle mass.. try doing 2 or 3 days of weight training instead of cardio.. that'll help protect ur muscles.. -------------- A life worth living is a life lived with honor and dignity..bow to no moral.. could i do cardio and weight training on the same day?? would that still protect my muscles?? what if i do cardio 3 days a week and weight training 3 other days? would that still boost my metabolism the way i want it to?
thanks for your time |

yeah either way will be ok, but if you are looking for muscle growth, make sure your cardio is AFTER your weight training on days you do it together

ok! thanks everyone for your help. one last questtion, i eat healthy things for dinner and lunch but have cut out all other non-helthy snacks that i used to eat plus now i do cardio, would that succesfully get rid of the ridge of fat that covers my abs?(i have a moderate metabolism that will get boosted by all the cardio i've started doing too.)

yup.. as bropie said.. cardio shud be AFTER the weight training on the training days.. and if i were u i won't do 6 days continuously.. i'll give one days rest in between somewhere.. just my thoughts...-------------- A life worth living is a life lived with honor and dignity..bow to no moral.. alessandro.. u need muscles also to reduce fat.. not only cardio.. u see.. muscles are fat burning machines inside ur body.. which keep on burning fat 24 hours a day... i wud suggest 5-6 small meals a day instead of 2-3 Big ones.. that'll keep ur matabolism up n running..
as far as ur abs are concerned.. if u keep on watching ur diet.. u'll see the results there.. but keep in mind.. it all depends upon how ur body is programmed to function.. fat from abs might be the last place ur body touches (maybe the first place if u r lucky enough  ).. so give it some time... -------------- A life worth living is a life lived with honor and dignity..bow to no moral.. yea thats what i've been thinkin
i'm just going to do cardio 3 days a week. i think that shud be sufficient. does muscle really burn fat? cuz some people say it does and then i read websites that day it just forms under the fat |

thanks for that. so basically an intense workout would be better? thats how i understand it. i find it more intense to jog and sprint at my park or reserve than on a treadmill, would that be enough?
