I am a recovering anorexic/bulimic...I am 5'8" and 125 lbs..I was down to 84 lbs. this winter and nearly died..after being in rehab twice I am now up to 125 and want to maintain it there...I work out every day, at least an hour in the gym and weights every other day. I do 40 minutes on the elliptical and usually go for walks daily which vary in length...So with keeping this activity level in mind, I am wondering how many calories would I need to maintain this...I still have problems with throwing up and I tend to restrict but am working towards stopping the behaviours because theyre ruining my life...I am currently eating around 1800-2000 calories a day and burning about 400 in the gym...any help would be appreciated...and how much protein should I take in..I want to tone up..so any advice with diet and exercise would be appreciated..thanks!

You might want to look at doing something like Yoga a few times a week in addition to the weights/cardio. As for your protein intake, make as many of your calories as you can protein. You want some with every meal, this way more of your weight will become lean muscle.

Good luck and stick with it, food demons are tough to conquor, but the strong survive and it seems like you've got a firm grasp.

I'm struggling with bulimia and anorexia too,and know how hard it is. But completely worth trying to get healthy again. I applaud you for speaking out and continuing to fight:big_smile:

I'm fighting bulimia too, never anorexic but always ashamed of it because I think it means I'm just a cheater and have no self control. you get it though. I'm glad you're not dead.
