With such a topic so broad we truly try to cover the basics from all angles in this group. Nothing too big or too small. Nutrition is as significant if not more as exercise is to reaching your goals so learn all you can.
This may be a stupid question but does anyone else feel that their stomach looks flatter in the morning and seems to stick out further later in the day? Is it because your muscles tend to relax later in the day? It makes me depressed when in the morning or after a workout I can see that my stomach is tighter but at night or before I go to bed I my stomach looks fatter and I loose a little definition in my abbs. Anyway maybe its just me!
Yeah, I find that in certain mirrors in certain lighting, my muscles have more definition as well. :big_smile:
I also noticed that after a hard run, my stomach looks bigger as well but I believe that is because my body is trying to store more fat because it thinks that its reserves are being depleated. This may be what is happening to you as well. During the day, your body is burning calories and the body is trying to compensate for it.
Don't let it discourage you. Keep working out and doing cardio and it WILL get smaller for good. :)
Lighting will make a world of difference. Think about bodybuilding shows. The lighting is set just right to accentuate muscularity even more. Bodybuilding is in fact all about illusion. If you think about it, there are many "tricks" one can do to appear to have a smaller waist for instance...i.e...broaden the shoulders and or back.
