This was posted in another forum on another sight. Charles Glass...has a concoction that he uses on bodybuilders to "spot reduce"

You mix olive oil and vicks vapor rub. Idea is the oil gets absorbed into the skin and the area(s) then the body goes to metabolize this new fat...nto knowing the differance in the olive oil and the other fat that is stored....idealing reducing fat in that area...
just though it intresting....

So myth?

I have a lot of respect for Glass, but this is not reality. Maybe done with some quick non-controlled cause/effect research, but physiologically not possible.

Well he seems like a knowledgable guy and very respected in fitness and bodybuilding circle's...I figured there may have been some truth to the statement.

So then why did you ask if it were a myth if you already believed it?
I don't see how the body would recognize olive oil rubbed onto the skin as it's own body fat, and all of a sudden try to use it as energy.
Do you have a link to this statement? Maybe we can clarify what he is trying to say...
