Does anyone know how to determine whats loose skin compared to fat. Since I have been loosing weight I have noticed that a portion of my large gut just seems to be soft and droopy and not some what firm like fat.

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it is gone past me I will turn to see fear's path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain

I have this problem and have been told that nothing short of plastic surgury can fix it. I had twins seven years ago, and now I have become quite fit,(I think) and yet I have like a little pouch. I can tell its skin, not fat because I can pull it about 6 inches from my body and it's not hurting. I thinks its quite gross myself but Good jeans can hide it well. Just means no belly shirts for me. The skin has not shrunk in size at all even though I have. ANd it's been seven years, so ?????? who knows. Unless someone out there knows of any other way to get rid of it.

Yes, I know this "battle scar" of childbirth, plastic surgeons actually call it a >mother's apron<...which is basically a glorified way of stating that the elasticity in your skin is shot and hints at the fact that maybe we should be proud to have one??? LOL

Yes, save a good fitting pair of jeans, surgery is the only way to have it taken care of.

I have had the same problem I lost about 100lbs and i started seeing more drooping so I went to my doctor and he gave me some workout programs just to tone those areas. It helped me a lot but the only thing is He told me it only works on younger people.

I think you you should go see your doctor and see what he says before doing surgery

Hi,
If this is skin then doing lower ab pilates works. Laying on floor with hands under butt, lift and lower legs and if you can't start out doing this put hands on sides of floor and raise legs as far up as possible. Also doing reverse crunches with both legs up knees bent and bring them as close as possible to chest. Do as many as you can increasing only everyweek .
Also putting a very good cream on in the morning and at night before bed (preferably a firming cream ) should help skin with elasticity . As the skin drys out it loses elasticity. Also if you drink alot of water cut down while doing these exercises and check with doc for water retention. And massaging area while applying cream breaks up any cellulite. This is a form of cellulite and will eventually turn into it if not properly treated.
