I have a bench that has the bar bell rest at the head, is adjustable for doing incline presses, etc. leg curl attachment, and fly attachments.

I have three bars, two standard length and one I cut shorter for doing close grip exercises. and five dumbbells, two for curls, two for flys, and one for tricep extensions (different weight for curls, flys and extension)

I started with a 110lb set of plates, and have been adding as I have progressed, buying couples of 25 plates, couples of ten, couples of 5, etc. The next purchase is for a couple of 50 pound plates.

Your looking at around $60 for the bench, and about $30 for you first bar set. But you don't have to run out and buy everything at once. You could start off doing dumbell exercises, using chairs and a home made flat bench, then buy the barbell set, and/or bench.

There are total gym systems on the market. I saw one at Costco for $299.99 which includes other attachments such as for dips, chinups, etc. Which, once I'm completely certain that I will continue (Like when I've been working out for a year- 2 months left to go!) I'll make that purchase.

Hope this helps some. Cheers

I would Suggest You to Go for A Basic Set of Dumbells And Barbells and Preferably a Decent Bench that's all you need for a total body workout.

Happy Working Out
