Every night I plan on waking up after about 8hrs of sleep and working out. BUT I can't seem to get out of bed! I love to sleep! I put my alarm clock on the other side of the room, so I would have to get up to turn it off and that did not help... I just walked back to my bed and went to sleep! What can I do to make myself get up in the AM? What can I do before bed, so that when I wake up 8hrs later, I feel fully refreshed and ready to go? HELP!!!:O)

Do you have problems getting to sleep at night? What time of day do you work out?

I have a crazy schedule. Ready for this?... lol:
Tues - Sat I work 3p-11p / BUT Wed & Thur I also work 11p-7a
I squish in work outs whenever I can.. mostly at night. And on my nights off or my nights working till only 11p I can NEVER go to sleep .. I usually stay up till about 4-6am
But even if I do go to sleep at 4a.. 8 hrs later... at 12noon I can't wake up. Yeah I know the problem is mostly that I work WAY too much, but that's something that I can change... Help!

I have the same problem, as much as you want it before you go to sleep you just can't get up to do it. Sleep logic is tough to beat.

How I fixed it....I bought a new hunting dog. She needs lots of exercise, if not she tears stuff up during the day. I HAVE to wake up to walk her in the morning. While she's eating I lift.

Not telling you to go buy a dog, but basically wake up to do something small....then go to your lifting.

Ohhh... I have an idea!!! At night if I'm watching tv I'll never fall asleep.. b/c I want to see everything that happens lol.. I'll watch like 4 CSI episodes in a row till 4am lol. So if I wake up and turn the tv on to something I love, maybe that will wake me up??? And then I'll be awake enough to function for a workout. Worth a try! As long as I don't get stuck on tv and I go workout lol ... I shall see if this works in the am!! :O)

alarm clock across your room? I believe I read somewhere that you've unsuccessfully tried that one though. probably the single most important thing about being able to wake up is having a set bedtime & awakening each and every single day.. But you schedule definitely prevents this. Might I suggest splashing your face with freezing cold water? If you can make it to the bathroom this one may help you a ton :p

But, as much as the truth hurts, being able to wake up is solely dependent upon whether you really truly want it or not. I used to have major problems waking up, but now I wake up at 06:00 every morning (off-days too).

It is a possibility of a sleep disorder as well. Many people aren't aware that there are 88 known sleeping disorders.. As to whether or not being able to wake up when you want is doubted as one, I suppose anything is possible.
