Is there anyway I can tighten the loose skin on my lower abs. I've lost some fat down there, however, when I bend over I notice the stretch marks and the loose skin just dangling (not a pretty sight). Any help with correcting the loose skin and eliminating stretch marks will be appreciated.

Thanks.

Cream, massage and to have a nice tan are the only solutions..... (if not surgery...)
OR you could fill out the loose skin with more muscles!

Well do your ab exercises 2-3 times a week.

Why not follow FT's 12 weeks of ab routine?

If it helps, I find the thing thats hits my lower abs best is lying leg raises with weight between your feet. These are killer.

Hey Guys,
I'm doing a total of 300 crunches and 100 leg lifts per week. I have 15lbs weight on each ankle. I'll adjust the weight and go from there. Thanks for the feedback.

Men are lucky and tend to loose it faster than women. That is a total dilemma I have and hopefully seeing some of these suggestions...will help............some....I've already been told by a Sports Med. guy that "it" being my storage fat area..(genetics) that I'll never get rid of it 100%...can tone but that's about it!......Damn genetics!

Hey ranger, welcome to FT! First off, congrats on the decision to quit smoking. I did 2 1/2 years ago and it may well be the best decision I ever made regarding my health, that alone will improve your life dramatically. As far as you being concerned about having loose skin after losing weight, your 27, your skin should still have enough elasticity to it to tighten back up in time. If your looking to get a lean tummy without the body builder look, maybe try the 12-week ab program here without using any weight. This will allow you to burn calories and gain some definition. Take your time and look the site over. Lots of good stuff here. Check out the "exercise program" and "fitness resources" tabs at the top of the page. You can customize a workout for yourself suited to your abiliy and resources. Again, welcome to FT, and good luck!

i heard about the loose skin thing recently; it freaked me out.i am planning on hitting the gym from july,my body is kinda stiff.i cant even run regularly - i just try and stretch and do a few squats, crunches and lunges at home without weights *weak legs esp calves*

I am 19, and i was wondering if i would end up with loose skin in the tummy if i aim to lose like 1-2 lbs a week...i want to drop around 6 - 10 lbs max.its funny how my weight differs frm morning and night - differs frm 115-118lbs...because of food:surprised:?... i'm only 5'2!
PWEEEEEEZ lemme know abt my chances of getting loose skin :( and how i might be able to take steps to prevent it before it happens! btw i wasnt obese before; only gained :(right now in my entire 19 years i weigh the highest. pweeeeez help:(

If you loose wt slowly it will reduce the chances of loose skin. 1-2lb/week is best. You're still young, so I'll bet you won't have a problem with loose skin. Even if you do get some, a bit of loose skin on the abs is better than a big tummy:)

Also, don't worry about the wt fluctuations from morning to night....in fact...stop weighing yourself 2X/day. Weigh yourself once per week, same time of day. Better yet, take measurements of your body every few weeks and judge your progess that way.
