I just want to tone up, not bulk. I need to lose this gut more than anything. Wondering if I am on the right track!

    I am a 6' male. 42 yrs old.
Many many moons ago I was about 170 lbs with no muscles.
When I was more athletic build I was maybe 185 (right around 30 yrs old).
    Sometime between 30 & 40 yrs old I gained 40 pounds! (marriage??)

Here's what I have done for 6 weeks now...
    400 calories or less 5x a day.
    Hydroxycut
One A Day Weight Smart Multi Vitamin
    DHEA
Omega 3 Fish Oil (1000 mg) 3x daily
Dual Action Cleanse morning & night
Cut out the processed sugars & flours as much as possible.
    Cut down the booze.
Lots of fish, chicken, Buffalo meat(yes, Buffalo).
More salads than I care to remember- a tiny drizzle of dressing.

Workout every other day (no matter what) followed by massage & hot tub
Workout= Gazelle (cardio)1-2 miles, free weights, "Red" (abs), stretching, cherry pickers, whatever I can think of even if it includes goofy dancing!

I try to get some extra walking or housework in when I can too.

    I have lost 11 pounds & look/feel better.

Shouldn't I be losing more? Or is the muscle weight cancelling out the fat weight? I'm barely even cheating on Friday night!

Or should I just be patient?

    Thanks for any help.

400 cals? You will shut your metab down eating that little! I know it will sound counter productive but you need to be eating more.. alot more actually. I would start off around 1800 cals and then tweek it from there.

I think he is eating 2000 cals per day. (400 x5)

And Mike I think 11 pounds in 6 weeks is awesome! be patient, it will happen with persistance.
