Introduction

My life changed forever when I stumbled (quite accidently) upon mountain biking.

After my first ride (I was forced to do it!), I immediately went out and purchased my first MTB (which left a huge dent in my not so big pockets!) and I’ve never looked back! (mmmm… should check to see if I’m done paying for her yet….)

Now love at first sight it was NOT with strength training :(

I was forced to do it (something about a competitive dragon boat team blah blah) but soon discovered how much it contributed to everything I did on a day to day basis.

Interestingly enough, somehow along the way, I’ve learned to love it much the same as I love MTB. Well…not the same…but much the same :)

Goals and motivation

The same goals I have for life in general: have fun and never stop learning :)

Oh...and to execute the human flag pole. That would be a pretty cool party trick :) That is my goal!

I will work your crew to death. If they slack, I'll take out my teeth and scare them witless. Look up shield wall as pertains to vikings. I know I fought in one in another life. My 92 year old mama says that very few of my ancestors died in bed. We come from a long line of warriors. Kiddo, you have a wonderful time in Florida. I'll let the sharks know you're coming. They'll head for da Bahamas mon.

We are in a backwater town in SC but the boat and my swimming hole are in Columbia SC. I want to row on your Viking ship.

And,, could I pick a better heroine? I do want to see the photo when you work up to the human flag. Tim Day can give you the info on the routine for reaching 20 pull ups. Post in your flog. I'd love to see your routine. Nothing will top the riding at the north pole picture. Is that routine up there?

My first 10 speed Huffy- loaner------------------- My second bike was a Schwinn Continental $50-- My third bike I bought in the navy in 1973. It was a Fiorelli Milano San Remo. It weighed 26 lbs compared to the 45 lb Schwinn. I rode it 10 miles each way to my ship in Norfolk and hung it in a companionway when we deployed. I always had transportation in every port. It to a year to pay off. No shock absorbers back then but it did have quick release rims.
