ft TIP of the WEEK - expand your knowledge now!

 Essential Health Tip

Well hello once again to the ever growing ft community! This week we will take a look at YOUR health! So you think that your health is fine? Are you sure? Below are the top five most common ways in which you can improve your lifestyle and habbits to develop a much healthier life. Keep in mind please that this is simply a guide - in addition to being an educational read. Good Luck!

Food Labels make certain claims, which conform to a standard - here is what those label claims mean:

1. Avoid Fats You should avoid obvious items such as fried foods, burgers and other fatty meats. Dairy products such as cheese, cottage cheese, milk and cream should be consumed in low fat versions. Nuts and sandwich meats, mayonnaise, margarine, butter and sauces should be eaten in limited amounts. Most are available in lower fat versions such as substitute butter, fat free cheeses and mayonnaise.

2. Be Active Make it a daily guide to find new ways to move your body! You can climb stairs if given a choice between that and escalators or elevators. Walk your pets; play with your kids; participate in sports with friends, mow the lawn. Anything that moves your limbs is a fitness tool. It doesn't have to be an hour in the gym or a 45-minute aerobic dance class or tai chi or kickboxing. But that's great when you're up to it.

3. Reduce Your Stress Of course, this is much easier said than done; however, many stress busters come in many forms. Some techniques which we recommended are to think and have positive thoughts. Spend maybe 30 minutes a day doing something you like, something productive which makes you happy. It is important to avoid difficult people when possible, they will simply not lead you to a solution.

4. Do Not Smoke This must be quite obvious. Just very recently, we have seen a huge surge in smoking in adolescents and teens, sadly. Could it be the Hollywood influence? It seems the stars in every movie of late smoke cigarettes. It has been proven that stoping smoking does create a much healthier lifestyle indeed.

5. Keep A Positive Mental Outlook is a definitive connection between living well and healthfully and having a cheerful outlook on life. The two just simply go hand-in-hand! The better the outlook you have for the day.. the better it is bound to become!
