 Anatomical Glance

The thighs are split into two areas, the quadriceps and the hamstrings. The quadriceps are further divided into four muscles groups; rectus femoris which extends the leg, flexes the thigh, sartorius which flexes, abducts and laterally rotates the thigh; flexes the leg, vastus lateralis which extends the leg and finally vastus medialis which aso extends the leg. The hamstrings are called biceps femoris which extends the thigh, flexes the leg.

 General Summary

Thigh development is very important to an overall physique. Legs are perhaps the most neglected areas to train simply because they take a lot of strain from physically to train and are easy to cover with clothing. How many times have we seen an individual with a very well built upper body, to later find out they have chicken legs? How can someone let themselves go to that point, how emabarrasing. As mentioned before, thigh training takes a large toll on the body, it takes an individuals own dedication to build powerful legs or not. This applies for both men and women whether it is to build size or tone, leg training takes commitment! Having strong legs will help you in all sports as well as in daily life. As mentioned above, thighs are split into two areas, quadriceps and hamstrings. For those individuals interested in competition, once again, legs must be in proportion to your upper body, otherwise you will be strongly penalized.
