 Anatomical Glance

The chest is combination of the pectoralis major and minor. The first flexes and adducts the arm, medially rotates the arm, the latter draws the scapula forward, medialward, and downward. For the purpose of discussion, we'll seperate the chest into four regions; upper, lower, outer and inner.

 General Summary

The muscles of the chest are a great center piece to tie the whole physique together. It is well know that the chest is one of the most sought after well developed body parts along with arms and abdominals. It is a show piece for many, a sign of manlihood for men. For women, it is also of great importance to develop their chest muscles; some will find it beneficial to find that their bust size will increase if the muscle tissue lying beneath is increased. To have a complete, full chest is quite difficult to attain, that is why all areas must be trained from the beginning. It is important to have a thick powerful chest if you are a bodybuilder, not only that.. but you must have a wide chest as well. Of course, not everybody can develop this ideal chest perfection, such as the great pro bodybuilders and legends; unfortunately your fate is sealed when you are born. Your natural genetics spell out what your potential chest will appear like, which can however be sculpted according to your training discipline. There is one factor which should be noted of; your ribcage size, of course the bigger the better! There are a few exercise which promote this expansion. The bigger the rib cage.. the bigger the chest!
