Please tell me whether cardio like jogging gives best results if done before doing weights or after doing weights and why?

I've always read not to over do cardio before weight training. Before lifting you should only do cardio for about five minutes to get your core temperature up -- (warm up) Try to keep your weight training no more than an hour staying one (1) minutes between sets. For weight lose do 20 minutes of cardio after lifting and be sure to stay in your target heart rate so it is more effective. Just one (1) more thing -- don't eat anything 3-4 hours be exercising, that way your blood sugar levels are low and you’ll dip right into stored fat for energy. Drink Lots of water before and during workouts. And always eat something with high protein within one hour after working out so you can burn even more stored fat (sounds weird but it works).

The literature is confusing on this as is most data in healthcare. Light warm-up before weights and cardio after to keep the metabolism burning longer, or, split cardio between weight training. My take on this is at what point you're at in your training. The beginning of the year(whenever you start) to put on more muscle(burns more cals) reduce cardio and concentrate of muscle growth. Somewhere about 9-10 months you should start switching to more cardio and muscle maintenance, or more cardio maybe up to one hour wilth less weight sets. There is a transition during the year to put on muscle then increase vascularity to the muscle and shed fat.

well, stay away from too much cardio if you r working out full throttle and if your aim is to get big....but if you want to do it you can do it before as a warmup....in winters I add warmups with my stretches to warmup...

Definately Cardio after. I've seen my body tone up and friends have noticed a big difference in how I look. I used to just do cardio, but it didn't put in a good dent. I don't like doing cardio anyway so aftering lifting it's sort of my cooling down process.

I do cardio before and after. In the morning on an empty stomach, then I lift. Afterward, I swim in my pool. When I first get in the pool it is like a cardio work out, then I play around as my cool down. You can experiment and see what works best for you. I don't like to lift on an empty stomach.
