 Final Preparations ...

So you think you've got it all figured out? Well ft has decided to give you some last minute details to help you get everything just right for the show! Good Luck!

 Shaving ...

It will be obvious to you that you must a shaven body to compete. A shaven body displays the muscle much better and you can also tan better as well. Now there a few ways to get rid of the body hair; shaving, waxing and chemical solutions. We recommend the shaving with a simple razor.. or razors! Simply get at it! It is important that you shave a few weeks out from the show at least so that you are comfortable with it as well as let any nicks and cuts heal. The best time to shave prior to the show is two nights prior. This is due to the fact that shaving makes you hold some water, which clears up by the time of the show however.

 Tanning ...

You will need to darken your skin. This is due to the strong, bright lights on stage, the application of a skin darkener will aid this as well. You can do both natural tanning as well as tanning beds. When you are exposed to natural tanning, please be safe and use protective lotion. You will have to get quite dark, even if you are dark naturally. Remember to avoid embarrassing tan lines around your trunk area. Be sure to tan under your arms as well.

 Hairstlye ...

Your hairstlye, even though you may not know it plays an important role to your overall physique. It is best to keep your hairstlye short and tidy. Long and messy hair hides your muscles and takes away from your physique. As a rule of thumb, the bigger the hair, the smaller your body looks. There is of course the option to shave your head, but be advised that you should make sure you have the head for it.

 Applying Oil ...

Oil is important factor of your overall package on stage. The lights are bright on stage, so the application of a special oil will aid to showing off your muscles. It will add to the body's shape and musculature. Applying the oil correctly is important. Do not put on too much, it will take away from your physique and reflect away. Simply apply a light layer, get a fellow competitor to help you out for your back. As a rule, do not place oil on areas such as your kness and elbows and face.

 Pumping Up Backstage ...

The great pumping backstage is the final step before showing off what you've worked so hard for to the judges. It is important to pump up only certain muscles, and only a few set as to not take away definition by getting a huge pump. The key bodyparts to pump up are deltoids, lats, chest and tricep, thighs and finally biceps. The thing to keep in mind is to do slow, contracting movements with light weights. Good Luck!
