I want to bulk and eventually start cutting, I've read about the madcow 5x5 workout. But I'm not sure about it so I decided to use it along with some of my own added exercises.

Squats 5x5
leg press 5x8-10
deadlifts 5x5
hyper extensions 4x8-10
lunges 4x10

Unfortunately I don't have a spotter so I'll do what I think I can handle to prevent injury. But what do you think for a leg workout? thanx.

Overkill and a recipe for disaster.

Not to be mean but you you don't have a clue you shouldn't tweak proven programs until you start learning your body and training.

5x5 is a tough program and I LOVE IT, did it and now have altered it for my needs but I didn't any compound lifts to what is already tough as is.

ok thanx for the input. You're right I haven't tried the 5x5 workout and I don't know too much about the whole program, which is kind of why I decided to use it a bit along with my own program. I'm not a beginner I do workout with much intensity but I am new to the 5x5. Could you send me a link of the 5x5 program, (maybe the one you do) , and if you have any suggestions fire them my way, I just wanna learn and find the best program possible to add size.

what are your numbers in parallel or deeper squat(where your hip is below the knee or lower)? deadlift? bench? standing press?

if u dont know wtf u are doing or dont know how a certain program works...why are you tweaking anything? if you can do all that crap then you're definitely not lifting hard enough in the initial exercises...

do you workout at a commercial gym? there are no safeties to spot you?

saw horses might be worth an investment...they are cheap, foldable, and extremely durable...
